GARY’S “GAMEDAY PICKS CLUB” RECAP: CFB WK 3 – NFL WK 2 (*SEPT. 19, 2022)

Hi Gary Greene followers and fans,

Well another full week of picks is in the books (still awaiting a possible MNF play) and another very profitable week overall. We started the CFB Week 3 with a nice winner on (Total) Fla St/L’ville “OVER 57”. On Saturday we split (3-3) but our first “Best Bet” of season won easily with Utah (-21). Not super with (4-3) but we will take it with Fresno State losing it’s star QB to a horrific leg injury and SMU and Maryland (OVER 73) imploding close to scoring over and over. Even Mississippi State and LSU (OVER 53) had many chances to win. Minnesota was easiest winner possible and Kansas/Houston – (OVER 58) a super easy winner with scores galore. No bad picks this past week in CFB so that’s always good.

In the NFL for first time I can remember we had a fantastic day and it seemed like a disappointing week somehow thanks to the Raiders imploding late and costing us a perfect (5-0) sweep. Not being able to stop AZ QB Murray due to just awful DC plays calls was hard to digest. I am still pissed off as I type this. The other four games were all rocking chair winners. First my Redskins/Lions- “OVER 48” cashed easily with 63 total points scored. To think the Redskins had one first down in the first half and the game still soared way over is rather strange though.

The Bucs/Saints-“UNDER 44 1/2” was a very easy winner and the final score is misleading. The pick though was never in doubt. Next the Jax Jaguars (+3 1/2) simply dominated the game wire to wire. It’s nice to have those games each week as you know a few are likely to be close. The Niners lost their QB Lance early but luckily for them (and me and my clients) they had a veteran Jimmy G waiting in wings. He was a little rusty but overall another ez rocking chair winner.

Then of course the heartbreaking loss on the Raiders, who to be honest, for 3 quarters dominated Arizona. But like last week with one of our losses on the Eagles, the big lead and domination ended with back to back TD’s by Arizona to tie game and then Overtime, still with a chance to still cover (-5 1/2) with a TD, but fumble for a TD and bye bye (5-0) day.

For the 11th straight NFL season we simply are dead on and easily one of best in nation and we now stand at a solid (8-3) thru the first two weeks of the new NFL season. We have now won all 3 of our Underdog picks STRAIGHT UP as well. We have made some really bad picks in CFB this year but every NFL pick again was the right side, regardless of the final outcome. That means we are once again dead on and “in the zone” and I expect it to get better ahead as I have learned so much in the first 2 weeks.

It’s still very early but being up (+15.10) UNITS already is a very nice cushion. It was also nice to win our first “Best Bet” in either CFB or the NFL as Utah won 35-7 in a game that wasn’t that close. Utah fumbled a punt inside their own 20 and allowed SD State to score a TD (and any points for that matter) when they never sniffed a good scoring drive.

Our free Radio shows Pick also won for second straight week as Green Bay (-10) covered. That was not a “Gameday Picks Club” pick though as the weather of possibly heavy rain during game kept me off that pick. Giving radio show Free Picks days ahead can at times hurt you so I am glad the rain wasn’t terrible and GB rolled the Bears. Everybody won last week and that does make for a more relaxing week ahead now.

I am shooting for a podcast show on Wednesday night this week….so look for that around that time.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a safe and winning new week ahead.
