Hi Bet Vegas/Gary Greene followers,
Well first we hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend and you all made some profits with your bets this long weekend. Our official start was in the Week 0 card of College Football last week where we had a fantastic (4-0) out the gates. We followed that up in Week 1 action with a (3-1) Thursday night winning our first 3 games but finally losing our first game of 2022 when Penn State drove length of the field in final few minutes to score a TD and win by 4 (our +3 1/2 not good enough to stay unbeaten. Friday we had just one pick and it was a solid straight up TD underdog winner with Old Dominion getting is off to a really sweet start (8-1).
Saturday though the train fell off tracks a little bit with a poor (2-4) overall day. Overall we had just one bad pick as Louisville simply was awful and totally dominated by Syracuse. We lost out on a PUSH with Maryland as Buffalo somehow decided to kick a FG down 24 with only 6 minutes to go….basically forgoing a chance to possibly tie game giving the Buffalo backers a cover and Maryland backers left shaking their heads. Tough start as that was the early 9am/pst pick. UCLA started terribly thanks to poor Special Teams play but actually dominated the game wire to wire and cashing our ticket. Florida Atlantic looked good early but faded in 3rd quarter and fell short any big comeback. Our 2 Totals split out with one our first really (I mean insanely) lucky “OVER 62” cashing in the Houston/UTSA game all thanks to Overtime. In end one of a handful of wild finishes in CFB on Saturday and one where Gambling Gods smiled down on us. Our other Total pick was complete opposite. SMU/NTexas both moved ball easily but NTexas kept imploding and with the lead so big in 4th qtr. by SMU the scoring (and lack of even trying to score) went south. Again only Louisville a bad (and I mean bad) play on Saturday and so far all season.
The Sunday and Monday stand alone games got us back on track with a winner in each game. Florida State (+3) beat LSU straight up and avoided possible Overtime disaster by blocking LSU last play Extra Point Try. We will take the good fortune there as one for the good guys. Last pick was Labor Day night as we won with Clemson (-21). These 2 picks were given out immediately as I circled both months ago. We actually for first time took a really bad number as Florida State closed as 4 point dog. Clemson on the other hand closed (-24), so we got the best of that closing line. Look I am always honest with how winners and losing picks I made pan out in the end. Clemson was simply terrible again on Offense. There was zero improvement and this ticket cashing was solely thanks to blocked punts, missed GT Field Goal, GT slipping without being hit in backfield for a loss on 4th and 2 and GT HC being way too conservative at times. Final score looks like I am a genius….sadly even some new clients messaged me “great pick” on Clemson. It’s always more fun to get positive feedback but it was NOT a great pick. Clemson already has a QB (and Offensive Line) problem. They won but this is like watching a repeat Movie….same struggling Offense as last season. Ouch!
So in the end it was a decent CFB week 1 with a (8-5) record. With the (4-0) start last week we now sit at (12-5) overall. After how we started last season in CFB, I am thrilled with the record thus far, and happy to really have made just the one really bad pick. I learned a ton these first 2 weeks and hope to have a much improved Saturday in Week 2. Super excited to start NFL 2022-23 this week as I have been possibly the best or one of Top 5 picking NFL games the past decade. We have simply run the table too, never sniffing a losing season, from the opening week Kickoffs thru Super Bowl weekend. Hopefully we can somehow come somewhere close to the insane winning we did last year and past few 10 NFL seasons.
