NOTE: Well the Pitcher I’ve won most this year on is Marlins Sandy Alcantara and although he’s been up and down his 6 starts he is coming off a spectacular 9 inning complete game win over the loaded LA Dodgers lineup. He has faced the Braves twice going 8 innings at Atlanta and allowing only 1 earned run in 8 innings and then his other start he went a complete game 9 innings and allowed only 3 earned runs. He’s allowed only (10) hits in 17 innings vs. the Braves this season.
For Atlanta Charlie Morton gets start here on his home turf where he has been simply lights out allowing 2, 0, 0, 0 earned runs in his last 4 starts at the “T”. In those 4 games he faced 4 loaded lineups (Astros, Phillies, Mets and Dodgers) …so no cupcake hitting teams in that bunch. He’s pitched (25.1) innings and allowed only (13) hits and 0 homers and has a whopping 38K’s. The Marlins hitters strike out, A LOT!
FINAL PITCH:
I would be stunned if these two combined to allow 4 runs in the first 5 innings. I don’t see more than 1 run apiece as these two studs should both get up for the solid matchup against each other. Look for a low scoring game here and although Alcantara goes deep into games….Morton exhausts the tank usually in 5-6 innings max. Hence this bet is on both these guys actually pitching and not the Bullpens.
