The Phillies send out Nola tonight and he is back in Ace form the past 3 starts. He has gone 7, 6 and 7 innings and he’s had command of all 4 pitches. His curve has been electric and he’s throwing timing off hitters and often they are taking fastballs right in zone as they are simply off facing his mixing up of pitches. He’s had 25K’s and only 2 Walks. He has stopped nibbling and throw way less wasted pitches way outside.
Final Pitch: I fully expect Nola to have a fantastic outing again here tonight as when he is in a groove he really pitches well game after game. We also catch the Mariners in a hitting slump. They got shut out last night and prior scored 2, 2, 7, 3, 2, 0, 0 runs. So in last 8 games only one good hitting/scoring night. They should really struggle vs. a red hot Nola tonight.
For Mariners starter R. Ray in his last 11.2 innings pitched he’s allowed 11 hits and 5 walks and 7 earned runs.
