Note: The last 2 starts by Skubel have been lights out as he is mixing 5 pitches and just dominating hitters with 2 consecutive starts allowing (0) earned runs in 13 innings and only allowing 3 hits in each game of those last 2 starts. His last start he whiffed almost half (48%) of all the hitters he faced. He’s only allowed 2 home runs all season (39.2 innings) and although he did walk 5 batters in the past 2 starts combined (he did K16), he had only walked 3 batters all season prior. He is facing a struggling Civale who has a double digit ERA his past 3 starts while allowing 4 homers in just 14 innings. We will easily side with the Pitcher who is in a perfect groove over a struggling one at grab a very fair price for the mismatch.
