HOT PITCHERS FOR SUNDAY MAY 15TH IN M.L.B.
1). TEXAS PEREZ: Last 3 starts he’d been nearly flawless going (20) innings and (0.89) ERA and a fantastic WHIP (0.74) striking out 14 and allowing no home runs. He has now allowed just 2 earned runs his past 4 starts. His sinker is dominating hitters and keeps getting lots of swings and misses causing hitters to be lost at what is coming next. He is definitely not ACE type of starter but he’s one of hottest Pitchers in MLB the past 3 weeks for sure.
2). TORONTO MONOAH: Last 3 starts he’s been very strong going (18) innings, allowing paltry (1.50) ERA and solid WHIP (0.78) while striking out 17 and allowing only 1 homer. He has been lights out all season with (4-0) record, (1.75) ERA and WHIP (0.89). He’s come up strong in all 3 road starts going 6, 6, 5 innings and allowing a total of only 13 hits in those 17 innings and allowing only 3 total earned runs winning 2 of the 3 roadies and a no decision in the other. One thing though his slider was not sharp last start going for only 57% strikes.
3). SAN DIEGO MUSGROVE: Since Opening Day he is one of Top 3 Pitchers in MLB if you go across board in the numbers. He has given his team no less then 6 innings in any start, (4-0), the team is (6-0) in his 6 starts, his ERA is (2.08) and he has a ridiculous 41K-3Walks this season. He allows less then 1 baserunner per inning staying out of jams.
4). HOUSTON VERLANDER: He is coming off a just miss No No last start and he’s been spectacular the past 5 starts. He’s gone 8, 6.2, 7, 6, 8 innings and allowed only 1, 5, 4, 4, 3 hits. He allowed only 0, 2, 1, 3, 0 earned runs with 29K’s and only 3 walks. His WHIP (0.64) is one of tops in all MLB so nobody is getting on base. His only negative is his patented fastball got only 3 swing and misses last outing (almost hard to believe).
COLD PITCHERS FOR SUNDAY MAY 15TH IN M.L.B.
1). MILWAUKEE MUSGROVE: He has been terrible this season on the Road. In 3 Road starts he’s had 3 short outings going only (4.1), (4.0) and (3.2) Innings. He’s allowed 8, 7 and 6 Hits and 5, 4, 7 earned runs. His last start he almost pulled a near impossibility. He has only 1 swing and miss on his 4 seam fastball and sinker combined. His prior start the 4 seamer was electric. His poor spring has carried over as he has the talent but he’s been too up and down so far with more bad then good and just atrocious on Road that no way you could be him here today and worst off he’s a HUGE Favorite (-$1.76).
2). WASHINGTON CORBIN: He simply has been a huge cash windfall if you bet against him so far this season. He is (0-5) and his team lost all 7 of his starts. He’s allowed 40 hits and 17 walks in just (32.2) innings and his WHIP (1.74) one of worst in MLB. Some good news his last start was solid albeit only 5 innings but he held a strong Mets lineup scoreless with a nasty slider that had Mets hitters totally fooled (5 slider K’s) all game long. He has the talent but no way I’d bet him today until he now goes 3 straight solid starts and worst of all he’s facing RED HOT Astros Verlander. OUCH!!!!
3). CUBS STEELE: He has been a complete dumpster fire this season getting high pitch counts (none of his stuff is working) and going only 4, 3, 3, 2 and 2 innings his past 5 starts and this season he’s allowed 26 hits/13 walks in just 22 total innings pitched. He’s allowing nearly 2 baserunners per inning and simply is not giving his team any real chance to win. He’s a look to “BET AGAINST”, especially in First 4 innings of games as he’s likely to be outdone in that situation as he isn’t even reaching the 5th inning.
