NOTE: We always like to show the Box Scores that were deceiving last week as many folks only look at the Final Score to determine how each team played last week (or as we go over the season). Best example so far in 2022 thru 3 weeks of the NFL season is:
1). CHICAGO BEARS: (nice 2-1 record). But the number lie badly. Quite possibly worst Pass Offense I’ve watched on tape in decades. Last week they beat Houston (23-20) but with zero thanks to the Pass Offense. Now granted the Run game so far has looked good (187rypg) but they are so bad with Fields passing they barely even attempt a Pass. He is (23-45) on the season…many QB’s have fared better in one game, let alone 3. Don’t be fooled by this winning record.
2). MIAMI 21 – BUFFALO 19
Note: Bills had 31-15 First down edge, 497-212 Total Yards edge, and ran an insane 86-37 plays edge.
3). CAROLINA 22 – NEW ORLEANS 14
Note: New Orleans outgained the Panthers by wide margin (426-293) and (19-12) first down edge, out passing them (342-148).
4). LA RAMS 20 – ARIZONA 12
Note: Arizona outgained the Rams (365-339) and had (23-15) first down edge and (79-45) total plays edge.
5). TENNESSEE 24 – LAS VEGAS 22
Note: Raiders outgained the Titans (396-361), had (24-19) first down edge and ran (64-54) total plays edge.
6). BALTIMORE 37 – NEW ENGLAND 26
Note: New England outgained the Ravens (447-394), and out passed them (302-206) and (22-19) first down edge. It was 4 costly turnovers that was their demise herfe.
7). INDY 20 – KANSAS CITY 17
Note: KC outgained Indy (315-259) but 2 costly turnovers the real difference here.
8). ATLANTA 27 – SEATTLE 23
Note: Seattle outgained Atlanta (420-386) and had huge total plays advantage too (67-51).
9). MINNESOTA 28 – DETROIT 24
Note: Detroit outgained Minny (416-373), ran (76-66) plays but two long FG misses led to shorter fields for Minny…the conservative late Play Calling too by Detroit was really brutal leading to a loss that was really an almost sure win.
FINAL NOTE: This week only 1 team that lost the Turnover battle ended up winning the game (LA RAMS).
