GARY GREENE’S MLB TOP PITCHERS REPORT: (9/7/22)
). BRAVES STRIDER: He has allowed 1 earned run or less in 8 of his last 10 starts. He usually in 100 pitches thrown range so you can usually bet full game with him.
). CARDINALS MONTGOMERY: Since coming to Cards at trade deadline for NYY, he has been nearly perfect in 5 of his 6 starts. He allowed just 0, 0, 1, 0, 0 and struggling in just one of these 6 starts (allowed 5 earned runs). His stuff has been nearly unhittable since joining the Cardinals.
). LA ANGLES SANDOVAL: In his last 6 starts his stuff has been electric. He’s allowed only 2, 1, 0, 2, 0, 2 earned runs. He has (30) K’s and only (3) walks in those 6 starts and his last (22) innings he’s allowed only (12) hits and and only (3) earned runs.
). LA DODGERS KERSHAW: Of today’s group he is the only big namer I’d shy away from taking. He just isn’t fully healthy and isn’t going deep at all. In fact it’s a struggle to give 5 full innings of late. He has gone only (5, 4, 5.1, 4.1) innings in his last 4 starts.
). NY YANKEES COLE: He is finally looking like the elite Ace he was for a few years with 4 of his last 5 starts allowing only (2, 1, 1, 0) earned runs and his stuff has been top notch again.
). SEATTLE CASTILLO: Since coming to Seattle at trade deadline for most part he has totally been worth every penny of the trade cost. In fact when facing two possible Division winning teams (Cleveland and NYY) twice each – his numbers were nearly flawless. In 2 starts vs. Cleveland he went (12) innings and allowed just (12) hits and (3) earned runs with (14) K’s and just (2) walks. In his 2 combined starts vs. NYY he went (14.2) innings and allowed only (8) hits, (3) earned runs, (15) K’s.
). TORONTO MONOAH: He’s been in top elite form past 3 starts allowing (0, 1, 1) earned runs. He’s allowed only (13) hits and in his last (2) starts he had his best stuff all season….simply unhittable.
