NOTE: This is a game where we are catching some nice value with a Pitcher who has regained his stuff (No Hitter pitched earlier this season) after a rough patch where he needed to be sent down to the Minors. I have seen now a dozen same type cases where being sent down was the best thing for the Pitcher and so many have returned to now a very solid overall form. The Angels Detmer falls into this category and of late he is really in a nice groove. His past 3 starts have been fantastic with his arsenal all working. His past 2 starts he’s gone 7 full innings in both and he’s now allowed just 2 earned runs in his past 3 starts combined. He’s also gotten a ton of swing and misses in the past 2 starts with a solid 19 K’s overall. These past 3 starts came against some solid hitting teams in Seattle, Texas and Atlanta.
His counterpart is the Twins D. Bundy. He has been just awful his past 3 starts. He has lasted only 4, 5 and 4 innings and in those 13 total innings pitched he’s allowed 16 Hits (and many really hard hit balls) and 10 earned runs.
This is a nice situation and due to fact Twins record is so much better we actually get this pick (bet) at EVEN money. Take the LA Angels and Detmers to the Winners circle tonight.
